Obituary

Edna Mae Currie passed away May 31, 2013 at the Brazos Valley Hospice Center in Bryan, TX surrounded by her husband and children. She was born on March 19, 1924 to Jasper N. Dryman and Mandy Lilly Johnston in Ridge, TX.

She married Daniel A. Currie on August 29, 1941 and was married for 71 years.

She was preceded in death by two infant children; Billy and Chris, two adult sons Richard A. Currie and Kenneth Wayne Currie, two adult daughters Sandra Kay Bell and Amanda Jane Cantrell. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Roy W. Dryman, Emmitt Dryman, Howard Dryman, Todd Dryman, Connie Charles Dryman, and one sister Mary Lou Dryman Ansley. Mrs. Currie was the last remaining member of her family.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel A. Currie, her children Betty Cole and her husband Frank, Janice Roberts and her husband Pete, Patricia Plaisance, Marilyn Lester and husband Harvey, Lisa Cope, Terry Lee Currie and wife Casey, Kevin Currie and wife Tammy, and Danny Currie. She had 24 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Currie was a lifelong resident of Ridge. She was a devoted wife and mother. As the mother of twelve children, she had a distinguished career as a homemaker, problem solver, and often arbitrator. When her children were young, they thought she got up early every morning to remind God to put the sun back in the sky.
