Doris Lillian Jett McBride, 87 , of New Baden, Texas went to join her loving husband, Donald McBride on January 17, 2014. She was born on March 21, 1926 in New Baden, Texas to Buster and Lilly Mae Jett. She was a preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers; Raymond, Lewis and Billy Jett.

Doris leaves behind her daughters:
Linda Kaye McBride Chavez and husband, Ronnie
Donna Gayle McBride Long and husband, Dan
Grandsons – Donald Jeffery Chavez and Donnie Long
Granddaughter – Danielle Long Lind and husband Matt
Great Granddaughter – Amy
She is also survived by – Nephews & Nieces: Ricky and Sherry Jett, Bubba Jett, Jackie Jett, Jeanie Jett, Susan Jett and Mike Jett.
Sisters-in-law – Margie Jett, June McBride, Billy Sue Cory and husband, Jim and long-time Houston friend, Virginia Good.

Doris was married to Donald McBride for 65 years until his death in 2010. They lived in Houston, Texas until they retired to New Baden, Texas where they enjoyed many wonderful years of retirement in the country. Doris especially loved spending time with the family and friends during special holidays.

No stranger to hard work, she was a country girl at heart and grew up along with her three brothers in a time where the whole family worked to help provide.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospital staff in Bryan, Texas for the wonderful, thoughtful care that Doris and the family received. A special thanks to Rita for taking care of our mom so that she could stay in her home for as long as she did.
