Diane Carolyn Sowa was born on December 18, 1958 to Frank J. Sowa and Lillian J. Sowa.  She passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.

Diane was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School in Hammond, Indiana.  Diane started her career in 1977 with Amoco Production Company in Chicago, Illinois and was transferred to their Houston office in 1981.  It was in Houston that she met her future husband, and love of her life, David Greenwood.  Diane and David were married on June 17, 1989 at St. Casimir Church in Hammond, Indiana. They made their first home in Katy, Texas.

In 1999, Diane and David relocated to Farmington, New Mexico, where Diane continued her career with BP (the successor of Amoco) in their Farmington office until moving to Franklin, Texas in 2018 where she continued to work for BP.

Diane loved to travel, and in the early years of her career, her job took her to many exotic places like Egypt, Dubai, Russia, Australia, Brazil and Ecuador.  She continued this love of travel with her husband to Norway, Paris, Kenya, Mexico, Alaska and San Juan Islands – just to name a few.

Moving back to Texas in 2018 gave Diane the opportunity to be closer to family and friends.  Diane and David found the lake house they dreamed about in Franklin.  She loved life at the lake.  There she could spend hours watching the wildlife gathering in the yard from her porch.   Diane enjoyed reading, as well as floating on the lake and boating with friends.

Diane will be reunited in heaven with her parents, Frank and Lillian Sowa.  Diane is survived by her husband David Greenwood; brother James Sowa and his partner John Lacombe; and sister Nancy Paquin and her husband Art.  She will be missed dearly.
