Obituary

Deborah Louise Adams, 74, of League City, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025, surrounded by her daughters.

Debby was born on June 16, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to Will Hannah Wilson and Odie Rae Carter. She grew up in Houston and graduated from Bellaire High School. For over 30 years, she worked the night shift as a hospital switchboard operator, always dependable and resolute. Her calm voice and kind nature helped countless patients and families over the years. When she wasn't at the hospital, she was right beside her husband Billy, helping him with the family business, A&B Soil, where she learned to drive a tractor and load customers.

In 1975, Debby met the love of her life, Billy Dean Adams, and the two married the following year on November 25, 1976. They were partners in every sense of the word for almost 47 years. Together, they raised three daughters Kelley, Kristi, and Kori first in Houston and later in Friendswood. Family was everything to Debby, and she never missed a moment to show up for her girls. She supported them through school, livestock shows, sports, and every milestone in between. She served as a Girl Scout leader for years, giving her time and energy to help guide and encourage young girls, including her own, through service, faith, courage, and friendship.

Debby had a heart for helping and a generous spirit. She loved animals and helped care for countless rescue dogs over the years. Debby was honest, loyal, and selfless. She gave without asking for anything in return and always made sure the people around her were cared for and loved. She had a knack for giving gifts and always found something heartfelt to give to family, friends, and coworkers. She was an excellent baker and cook, an avid reader, and gardener with a green thumb.

Her most cherished role was that of Nana. Her grandkids were the light of her life. She was happiest when she was with them, soaking in all the hugs, sharing meals, giving them gifts, and hearing all about their latest adventures. She will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her determined nature, and the enduring strength she carried through life caring for others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dean Adams; her parents, Will Hannah Wilson and Odie Rae Carter; her sister, Martha Saunders; and her in-laws, Roscoe and Alice Grace Adams.

She is survived by her daughters: Kelley and Richard Wetta of Friendswood, Kristi and John Roney of League City, and Kori Adams and Derrick Brown of Friendswood; her grandchildren: Adam Marosko, Addison Marosko, Wren Roney; and her sister, Reynea McPeak. She also leaves behind many extended family members and lifelong friends.

A graveside service for family will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11th at Franklin Cemetery in Franklin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Texas Flash Flood Relief – Samaritan's Purse or a charity of your choice. https://samaritanspurse.org/article/deadly-flooding-hits-central-texas/
