Deanna Mary Hanhart
July 21, 1938 - January 23, 2015
Deanna Mary Hanhart, 77, of Franklin, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015, in College Station. Services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at First Baptist Church in New Baden, with the Rev. Freddy Burden officiating. Burial will follow in New Baden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 30, at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
Deanna was born on July 21, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Walter Willis Wooldridge and Dorothy (Rick) Wooldridge. She attended school at Calhoun High School and married Fred William Hanhart on September 13, 1956. She worked for the US Postal Service as Postmistress in New Baden, and retired as Postmaster after 20 years of service. Deanna had a passion for growing plants. She was a foster parent to numerous children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Baden and loved singing in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred; son, Fred Hanhart; and brother, Bobby Wooldridge.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Ann Hanhart of Crowley, Richard and Carol Hanhart of New Baden; brother Nate Wooldridge of Seadrift, Texas; sister Janet Lorfing of Seadrift, Texas; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
