David Edwin Perkins, 74, of
Wheelock, Texas passed away
on Sunday, February 20, 2011
in Bryan. Services are set for
1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February
23, at Shiloh Baptist Church.
Keith Petteway and Dale Wells
will officiate. Burial will follow
in the Wheelock Cemetery.
He was born on April 17, 1936
in Easterly, Texas to William
Wesley Perkins and Ima Fay
Johnston Perkins. He was a
graduate of Franklin High
School and served in the U.S.
Air Force in Keflavik, Iceland.
He married Clara Helen Fabian
on May 6, 1962 in Wheelock.
He was employed with Texas
A&M University for 25 years
before his retirement as a water
utility supervisor. He had been
a resident of Wheelock for the
past 31 years and was a member
of the Shiloh Baptist Church.
He was also a member of the
Masonic Lodge No. 359 Franklin,
Texas.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, sister, Hazel Bryan,
brothers, Dyrel Perkins and Vernon
Wesley Perkins
He is survived by his wife,
Helen Perkins of Wheelock;
sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen
and Crystal Perkins of
Franklin, and Michael and Bonnie
Perkins of Bryan; sisters,
Elizabeth Storonski of Bryan,
Lucille Thompson and Betty
Wester, both of Franklin;
brother, Corbet Perkins of
Bryan; five grandchildren, Brittany
Perkins, Dustin Perkins,
Cullen Perkins, Logan Perkins
and Colin Perkins
