Obituary

Dana Rodrick "Ricky" McNair passed away, Thursday, April 5, surrounded by family and supported by the visits, thoughts, and prayers of countless friends.

Ricky was a much-loved member of the local community. He was born on November 15, 1951, in Waco, the second child of Joe Hewitt and Billie Jeanine Martin McNair. Ricky grew up in Waco and moved to Franklin while in high school. Ricky was a graduate of Franklin High School. He and Mary Gomez, daughter of the late Pedro & Merced Gomez, married in 1980. Ricky was employed with GATX until his retirement. He spent his retired years raising cattle and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the GATX Retirees club and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Ricky was a spiritual man and had a loving nature. We will miss his sense of humor and easy smile, his steady support and devotion. He gained the respect of all who knew him through his strength and willingness to help a friend in need. Ricky's achievements in life were numerous but he will be remembered as a man of God who loved and is loved.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Hewitt and Billie Jeanine McNair; and his brother, Rocky McNair. Ricky is survived by his wife, Mary McNair; his two daughters and son-in-law, Becky Riley and Liz & Kevin Watkins; his two brothers and sister-in-law, Glenn McNair and Joe & Becky McNair; and his grandchildren, Becca Lorenz, Hannah Riley, Rowdy Watkins, and Lukas Burns.

He and his family are deeply grateful for the love and support shown by his friends and the community during the difficult period of his illness.
