Obituary

Born July 15, 1937 in San Antonio, TX he was known to his family as "Papa". Craig enjoyed many adventures with his loving wife Alice by way of his motor home. When he was not traveling he enjoyed spending time on his lake property where he retired after owning an antique store in Katy, TX. Papa enjoyed vegetation and would often times drive around on his 4-wheeler to enjoy the scenery. Craig was a part of the Patrick Lodge #359 A.F. & A.M. in Franklin, TX and was a Past Master. He enjoyed golfing with all his friends and occasionally with his grandson Travis. Craig was a dedicated Cowboys fan and later became a devoted Aggie fan. He enjoyed antagonizing his grandkids and family members all in good fun. Craig loved to debate and could turn anything in his favor. His paradise was where he passed on June 21, 2013. He enjoyed being home before he decided to join his mother and father in Heaven. Craig is survived by his wife Alice Black, three children Debbie Garvin and her husband John, Todd Black and his wife Teresa, and Shari Grant and her husband Chuck. His five grandkids that will miss him dearly are Mark Mangum, Colton Lingner, Brittni Black, Travis Black, and Nicole Grant. He is leaving behind one great-grandchild Caiden Mangum. He is also leaving behind his brother Don Black and his wife Angela as well as his sister Susan Huett. Craig will be missed by many other family members and friends. The viewing was held June 23, 2013 in Franklin, TX. The Masonic Ceremony took place Monday June 24, 2013 by the grave site in New Baden, TX. Donations may be made in Craig Black's name to the Scottish Rite Hospital 2222 Welborn Street Dallas, Texas 75219
