Cody Lynn Smith left this earthly world and entered eternal life on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 44.

Born to his parents, Bobby and Marion Hollis Smith, on June 24, 1982, in Hearne, Texas, He grew up in Bryan and attended Bryan schools.

Cody was employed as a truck driver and had been a resident of Franklin for the past 20 years.  Cody was a family man; his children and grandchildren were everything to him. He was known to many as the peacekeeper, making sure everyone always got along. Cody was always working hard to provide for his family.  In his spare time, you could find him riding his motorcycle or barbecuing and spending time with his family and friends.  While he will be missed terribly by his family, they find comfort in knowing this is not goodbye forever, it's just see ya later for now.

Cody is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Smith.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, children, Cody Smith, Jr. and Mercedes Smith and Jacob Smith and Lesleigh Jutson all of Franklin; his precious Granddaughters, Raylynn and Kayleigh Smith; his mother, Marion Hollis of Millican; sister, Cortney Smith of Millican; brothers, Daniel Smith of Bryan, Edward Smith of Milford, Bobby Smith, Jr. of Bryan and Blake Smith of Caldwell; his best friends, Jerry Currie of Bryan and Chase Johnson of Franklin and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas.
