Obituary

Chloe Marie Burton, a beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and precious child of God, went to be with Jesus on September 11, 2026, at just 12 years old.

Chloe was born on February 25, 2014, in Tomball, Texas, to Kaylei Eunice Conn and the late Christopher Terrell Burton. From the moment she entered this world, Chloe brought with her a light that was impossible to miss. She was incredibly sweet, deeply loving, wonderfully smart, and had a beautiful spirit that touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Chloe had a smile that could light up a room and a warmth that could be felt simply by being near her. She loved Jesus and had a tender heart for both people and animals. She grew up alongside her sisters, Brooklyn and Haylei, sharing the everyday moments, laughter, memories, and bonds that only sisters can share. Animals held an especially sweet place in Chloe's heart. She adored her beloved bunny, Winston, lovingly called Wynnie, and dreamed of becoming a marine biologist one day. It was a dream perfectly suited to Chloe: curious, compassionate, and fascinated by animals, nature, and the world around her.

Chloe also loved music and played the flute. Her favorite colors were lavender and light purple, soft and beautiful colors that seemed to suit her perfectly. Whether she was playing her flute, loving on an animal, spending time with the people she loved, or simply being Chloe, she had a way of making ordinary moments feel special.

Chloe was a seventh-grade student at Grand Lakes Junior High in Tomball, Texas. Although she had attended Grand Lakes for only three short weeks, she had already made an impact on classmates, teachers, and new friends. Before attending Grand Lakes, Chloe was a student at Franklin Middle School and Roland Reynolds Elementary School in Franklin, Texas, where many of her friendships began and countless memories were made.

Chloe had a beautiful way of making people feel welcome, loved, and important. To her cousins, she was both family and friend. To her friends, she was someone they could laugh with, trust, and make memories beside. She left a little piece of herself with everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

Chloe is survived by her loving mother, Kaylei Eunice Conn, and was preceded in death by her father, Christopher Terrell Burton.  She leaves behind her siblings, Brooklyn Hemphill, Haylei Hughes, Carli Burton, Christopher Burton Jr., Penelope Burton, Naveah Jumping Bull, Ary'ianah Mack, Savahn'aa Mack, and Maverick Burton. She was preceded in death by her beloved sibling, Carson Burton.  Chloe also held the very special title of Aunt to Everleigh Sanchez and Jaxon Sanchez. Though Chloe was only 12 herself, being their Aunt was another beautiful part of the love she gave and received, and the memories they shared with her will forever be treasured.  Chloe is survived by her grandmothers, Carolyn Conn of Franklin, Texas, and Tawana Burton of Tomball, Texas, and was preceded in death by her grandfathers, John Conn of Franklin, Texas, and Frankie Burton of Tomball, Texas.  She was also deeply loved by her Aunts and Uncles: Chelsi Conn; Laurami "LoLo" Kirby and her husband, Jason "Uncle J" Kirby, all of Franklin, Texas; Ashley Burton and La'Trey Burton of Tomball, Texas; Jacob Threadgill of Caldwell, Texas; and Rene Threadgill of Franklin, Texas, along with a very large extended family who loved her dearly.

To those who loved Chloe, she was never simply a name on a family tree. She was our Chloe, our "Coco," the little girl we watched grow, laughed with, encouraged, worried over, made memories with, and loved beyond anything words could adequately describe. Every person who loved her carries something different: a story, an inside joke, a conversation, a hug, the sound of her laugh, or an ordinary moment that has suddenly become priceless. To Cooper, her sweet cousin, who was born just one day before Chloe and was her bestest friend, she was everything. They shared an undeniable bond that was deeply special and cherished by everyone who witnessed it.

There are no words big enough for the heartbreak of losing Chloe, and twelve years could never have been enough. But those twelve years mattered.  Chloe was here. She loved and was loved. She laughed, learned, dreamed, played music, loved animals, made friends, loved her family, and left footprints on countless hearts that will never fade.

Our family finds comfort in Chloe's love for Jesus and in our faith that she is now safely in His arms. While we would give anything for one more hug, one more conversation, one more laugh, or simply one more ordinary day with her, we hold tightly to God's promise that this goodbye is not forever.

Until then, we will find Chloe in the things she loved, in beautiful music, in the animals she adored, in the people whose lives she touched, and perhaps especially in every soft lavender colored sky. There will never be another Chloe Marie Burton.  She was one of a kind. She was deeply loved. She will always be missed. And she will never, ever be forgotten. Until we meet again, sweet Chloe. Save us a place in Heaven. We love you more than words could ever say. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. " Matthew 5:4
