Charlie Lee Wingate, Jr. 83, of Arlington, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his home in Arlington.  He was born on June 23, 1936 in Sumter, South Carolina to Charlie Lee Wingate, Sr. and Goldie May Gaylord Wingate.

He received his education in Sumter and married Ernestine Byrd on August 12, 1961.   Charlie was retired from General Motors and was a resident of Arlington for 55 years previously living in Austin.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Goldie Wingate, Sr.;  granddaughter, Ashley Tolly and sister, Katie Russell.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Texas.  Jimmy Sanders will officiate.  A visitation will be held from noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
