Obituary

Charles Wesley "Chuck" Moore, 83, passed away September 19, 2023, in Franklin, Texas.

He was born on October 5, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas to Walter Wesley, and Emma Gene (Facini) Moore. At the age of nine, he lost his mother to tuberculosis, and his father later married Helen Goodman Cook of Franklin. Not only did he gain a bonus mother, but he also gained two brothers and a sister. The family moved to Bryan, where they welcomed another sister.

He was a 1958 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Sam Houston State University.

He married the love of his life, Mollie Ann Corner on June 5, 1964, in Huntsville, Texas. They were married for 53 years until her death on March 18, 2018. They raised their three children in Huntsville, Texas, and Dover, Arkansas. They eventually moved back to Texas and made a home in Franklin where they adopted their fourth child.

Chuck worked for the criminal justice system and as a rancher.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mollie, and brother David Cook. He is survived by daughters Melodee (Larry) Brymer, and Dawn Currie, sons Clayton Moore, and Tristian Moore, brother Richard (Claire) Cook, sisters Martha Hungate, and Beverly Bannister, sisters-law, Lois Robertson, and Sylvia Lucas, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Henry Prairie Baptist Church. A visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the Church. Burial will follow in the Henry Prairie Cemetery
