Carrol Gene Anderson was born on November 10, 1933 in Robertson County, Texas to parents, Rueben Lane and Amanda Welch Anderson. He entered eternal life on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Bryan, Texas at the age of 87 years.
Carrol received his education in Normangee and was a graduate of the University of Houston. Carrol was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in Japan and he was proud to have served his country during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Nell Summersill. He was employed for more than thirty years as a planning manager for Occidental Chemical Corporation before his retirement. Carrol was a resident of Franklin for the past twenty-one years previously living in various places. He was of the Southern Baptist faith.
Carrol was very intelligent and a well-spoken gentleman. He was also witty at times and was a great conversationalist. In his later years, he was active in helping his community. He was responsible for help setting up a scholarship fund for the Normangee ex-students organization. Carrol's love for country music led him to help coordinate the Edge Street Fest for many years. It was something he took pride and enjoyment in. Carrol will be missed by so many lives that he touched while here on earth.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy and daughter, Sheri.
He is remembered in love by his son, Michael K. Anderson and wife Jeanne; brother, Raymond T. Anderson; granddaughter, Samantha Anderson Bradley; grandson, Joshua M. Anderson; 6 great grandchildren; niece, Brenda Gayle Anderson Thomas and his special lady, Cindy Engelmann who was with him until the end.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
