Carolyn Jean Gassen, 68, of Franklin, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 in Bryan, Texas. She was born on January 14, 1945 in Alliance, Nebraska to Frank and Verna Woods Mills. She married Harold Gassen on July 10, 1971. Carolyn was a homemaker and also worked as a volunteer EMT. She had been a resident of the Franklin area for 34 years and was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Franklin, Texas. She was preceded in death by father.

Son and Daughter-in-law – Kevin and Heather Gassen of Franklin
Mother – Verna Mills of Rapid City, South Dakota
Sister – Leslie Fox of Wichita, Kansas
3 Grandchildren – Kailey Jean Gassen, Mathew Mathias Gassen and Shelby Michele Gassen
Numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews

Memorial services were held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Franklin. A rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin and visitation will follow from 5:30-7:30 P.M.
