Bobby Autrey Adams entered eternal life on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the age of 92 surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on January 18, 1934, in Rusk, Texas to his parents, Wilber and Wilma Autrey Adams.

A lifelong Franklin resident, Bobby graduated from Franklin High School in 1951.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in Germany and France during the Korean War and then served in the Reserves. Bobby married his life companion, Betty Batten, on March 28, 1964, in Franklin, Texas.  Together they shared 57 years of marriage before her death. Bobby was employed with the Texas Highway Department for many years and then went on to work for the United States Department of Agriculture in the Soil Conservation Office before retiring. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

Bobby had a quiet demeanor but his love for his family was loud.  He was a beloved father and grandfather and was very proud of his family, always working hard to provide for their needs.   Bobby was also very knowledgeable, and even after his retirement he was often consulted by coworkers for advice. The absence of his presence will leave a substantial void in the lives of his family, but they rejoice in knowing that he is now with his Lord and Savior and his beloved Betty.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Adams; his parents, Wilber and Wilma Adams; his brothers, Tommy Autrey and Bud Adams; sister, Margaret May; niece, Donna "Sissy" Adams and nephew, Phillip McKinney.

Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and David Storm of Bryan; sister, Melva Adams McBride of Franklin; 4 grandchildren: Leyla (Jacob), Justin, Jamie (Dylan) and Madison; Great Grandchildren: Braxton, Kyler, Harper, Paisleigh, Presleigh, Axel and Creed.  He is also survived by his nieces and nephew: Susan Hancock(Jacky), Peggy Stallones(Glenn), Carl Autrey, Brad Autrey(Beverly) and Nelda Smith, and his extended family:  Christi English(Don), Chuck Batten and children, Eric Batten, Brian Batten(Tiffany) and children, Dustin Stallones(Lindsey) and children, Brian Stallones(Brook) and children, Hannah Hancock, Cody Hancock(Katie) and children, Jason Autrey(Sally) and children, Brandon Autrey(Jennifer) and children, Miranda Christian(Ben) and children, and Cole McKinney(Tiffany) and children, Charles McKinney(Felicia) and children, and Michelle McKinney and children.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Bald Prairie Cemetery 10174 FM 2096 Franklin, Texas.
