Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Billy Max Clark announce his passing. Billy went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the age of 83 years. He was born on October 13, 1943, in Las Vegas, Nevada to parents Maxie and Luther Terrell Garrett and grew up one of twelve children.

Billy received his education from Odessa Permian High School. Billy also served his country proudly serving in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He loved his country with his whole heart serving on multiple tours in Vietnam and earned many medals. While stationed in San Diego, he met Sally Ruth, the love of his life. Billy and Sally Ruth married on October 25, 1975, in Santee, California. In the fall of 1976, they moved to Texas to be closer to family. Sally and Billy were blessed with one child, April Clark. Each Thanksgiving and Christmas was spent at his parents’ house, crowded with so many siblings, grandchildren and eventually great grandchildren.

Billy was employed with Honeywell as an airline break mechanic for 40 years before his retirement. He lived in Allentown, Pa for 23 years before moving back to Texas to be near his daughter and son-in-law. He had been a resident of Franklin for the past 7 years and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Billy was always up for a great game of darts, bowling, chess, pool and he also loved archery. He wrote beautiful poetry and had many writings published. Billy also loved a great conspiracy theory. He enjoyed volunteering at the local food pantry, sometimes sneaking in a little extra when he saw children. Billy delighted in being around people and was always asking if anyone knew the winning lottery numbers! Billy was adored by so many and will truly be missed.
