Billy Dean
Adams
Dec 19, 1944 — Nov 14, 2023
Billy Dean Adams was born on December 19, 1944, in Bryan, Texas, to parents Alice Grace and Roscoe Adams. Billy went to his heavenly home, peacefully, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was 78 years old.
Billy grew up in Houston and attended Jesse H. Jones High School, where he graduated in 1963. He worked with his dad at A&B Soil from a young age and became the owner and operator when his parents retired and moved to the farm in Waelder, TX. He successfully ran A&B Soil for over fifty years making many friends with customers along the way. He was a trusted member of the community and often donated time and materials for projects at local schools.
Billy met the love of his life Deborah Louise Wilson in 1975. They married on November 25, 1976. They lived in Houston for several years and then moved to the suburb of Friendswood in 1989 to raise their three girls, Kelley, Kristi, and Kori
.
Billy dedicated his life to his family. He was the true definition of self-less. His dedication to others knew no bounds. He helped his parents with their property and cattle in Waelder, often driving back and forth from Houston. From baling hay, to mending fences, to working cows, to fixing equipment, and raising Quarter horses were many tasks he completed at the ranch all while also running the soil lot six days a week. When his parents and in-laws became ill, he took care of them without question. He was a loving brother and would help his sisters whenever they were in need. Everyone knew they could count on him. Being the only brother to two sisters prepared him to be the best girl Dad.
His wife and girls were his world, and he did everything to show them love and support. He grew up being in FFA, showing horses, cattle, and rabbits. He shared his love of animals and animal husbandry with his girls. He spent any free time he had helping with their steer, heifer, goat, and hog projects. He built the barns and pens, did a lot of the halter breaking, taught the girls how to show, and then spent the weekends hauling them to shows all over Texas. When his grandkids were old enough to show he helped them as well. Being a PawPaw brought him such joy. He loved spending time with his grandkids. Billy not only loved caring for his family, horses, cows, and the FFA projects, but he loved his dogs, and they loved him. He rescued countless dogs, often taking them in as his own. Billy was not one to shy away from any person or animal in need.
Billy will always be remembered for his unwavering and unconditional love and how he was so dedicated to caring for and providing for his family. He was gentle, kind, protective, funny, generous, and so very strong. A true gentleman, loyal devoted husband, and the very best Dad and PawPaw anyone could ask for.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Grace and Roscoe Adams and his sister, Alice Marie Rhodes.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Deborah Louise Adams of League City; daughter's and son-in-law: Kelley Marosko of Friendswood, Kristi and John Roney of League City and Kori Adams of Friendswood; his sister, Evelyn Joyce Leighman of Bryan. He is also survived by grandchildren: Adam Marosko, Addison Marosko, Wren Roney, Ty Roney, and Cody Roney.
