Billie was a faithful servant of God her whole life and a faithful member of the Five Points Baptist Church. She read her Bible daily and prayed for her entire family on a regular basis. Billie volunteered in her church by helping with Bible School and teaching Sunday school. She loved to sing and sang in the church choir for many years. She then sang from her pew, where her beautiful alto voice can still be heard by those who knew her.
She was a master cook, spoiling her family and friends to some of the best food ever made. She stayed home and raised her daughters, teaching them daily how to be Godly women. Cooking for her family was her love language, and her specialties were cakes, pies and her world-famous potato salad. She enjoyed and excelled at quilting, putting together large puzzles, and working in her flower bed. One of her rose bushes that she planted is still alive today. She also worked at the U.S. Post Office in Wheelock, serving as Officer in Chief for two years.
Billie's memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
