January 23, 1936 – January 27, 2013

Betty Simpson passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at her home. She was born on January 23, 1936 in New Baden, Texas to Thomas and Myrtle Ainsworth, and moved, as an infant, to Clute, Texas.

She married Lewis Simpson on April11, 1952 and spent almost sixty-one years by his side. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and nana. She genuinely cared for everyone she had a chance to know, but was most passionate about her family.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Ferman Ainsworth.

Survived by her husband, Lewis Simpson; daughter, Gwen Rottmund, husband Bill of Kingwood; son, Donnie Simpson, wife Shelly, of Brazoria; son, Ronnie Simpson, wife Suzanne of Austin; daughter, Melissa Garza, husband Garrick of College Station; Grandchildren: Candace Ratledge, Mitchell Simpson, Kassie Simpson, Gabrielle Garza, Connor Garza and Mason Noto and three great grandchildren.

Pall Bearers will be: Gerald Ainsworth, Blake Becktold, Gerald Yezak, Howard Dehart, Larry Estep, Karl Wylie.

Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 30th at McCauley Funeral home in Franklin, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, January 31st. at McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Texas. Graveside services immediately following at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
