Betty Glatha Hairston was born on January 26, 1934 in Burnet, Texas to Sherman Arthur and  Lulu Ruth Perry Kirby.  She passed away into the loving arms of her father in Heaven on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 19 days.

Betty attended and graduated from Hearne High School.  She  married Charles Wallace Hairston on October 19, 1951 in Rockdale, Texas.  Betty was a wonderful wife, mother and Christian.  She was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ and was a resident of Franklin for the past 46 years, previously living in Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; eldest daughter, Belinda; sisters and brother.

She is survived by:

Husband – Charles Hairston of Franklin

Daughters and Sons-in-law –

Cheryl and Chris Ragnes of Nacogdoches

Beverly and Myron Stowe of Fort Collins, Co

Son and Daughter-in-law – Chuck and Rita Hairston of Franklin

8 Grandchildren: Bryan Ball, Matthew Ragnes, Chelsea Ragnes, Clementine Stowe, Calvin Ragnes and Blythe Stowe

5 Great Grandchildren: Trinity and Cyrus Ragnes, Emma, Olivia and Nora Ball

Numerous beloved nieces and nephews

Services will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Franklin Church of Christ.  Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery in Milano, Texas.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 6:00-8:00P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sandy Creek Cemetery  256 County Road 360 Milano, Texas 76556 and/or Betty would hope that you would perform an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor unfortunate soul.
