Betty Lenora
"Dolly" Deal
Apr 19, 1943 — Sep 5, 2021
Betty Lenora "Dolly" Deal was born on April 19, 1943 to parents, William Taylor and Mary Francis Ramsey Moss. She entered eternal life on Sunday, September 5, 2021 in Hearne, Texas at the age of 78 years.
Dolly, as she was known to many, was a 1960 graduate of Franklin High School. She married her loving husband, James Edward Deal on October 28, 1961. To this union, two children were born, Jerry and Marci. Dolly was a homemaker. She lived most of her life in the Wheelock community and was of the Baptist faith.
She was a driving force for her family and took care of everyone around her. If you needed to talk, she was there to listen. If you needed something done, she was there to do it. She loved her family, her cows, wildlife (all but snakes and lizards), the Astros, the Oilers and Earl Campbell, Elvis, and JJ Watt. If you needed something organized she was the one to call on. During her life, she was a proud PTA member, a little league mom, a Boy Scout mom, a cancer survivor that helped organize several Robertson County Relays for Life, and a proud citizen of the town of Wheelock that organized several of the Silent Auction events for the 4th of July Parade at the Wheelock School House. Dolly will be remembered for her kind generosity toward others and the love she had for Christ and her family.
Dolly is preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Mary Francis Moss.
She is survived by her husband of almost sixty years, James Edward Deal of Wheelock; daughter and son-in-law, Marci and James Coe of Bryan; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and JoAnn Deal of Wheelock; sister, Billie Sharon Hughes of Wheelock; Grandchildren: Sarah Moreland and husband Jay, Courtney Deal and husband Elliott Keeter, William Deal and Dahlen Coe; one Great Grandchild, Lenora Elaine Moreland.
Services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at the Wheelock Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow in the Wheelock Cemetery. Dale Wells will officiate. A visitation will be held from 2:30 P.M. until service time at 3:00 P.M. at the Wheelock Cemetery Chapel.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Brazos Valley and Crossroads Nursing home for their compassionate care during this time.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, The Friends of the Wheelock School House or the Wheelock Cemetery Association.
