Obituary

Bertha "Dutch" Shapard was born on December 26, 1934 in Schoolcraft, Michigan.  She passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 in Bryan, Texas knowing she was so loved by family.

Dutch married Charles "Chuck" Shapard.  They had two children, Kathy and Larry.  She worked in the Fremont Unified School District cafeteria in Fremont, California for many years.  She loved to be in the sunshine while gardening.  Her back yard was filled with fruit trees and an array of beautiful roses of all kinds. From early morning sunrises, watching her backyard birds and squirrels, to listening to all the beautiful sounds, she loved all things nature. Dutch also enjoyed spending time crocheting.  She moved to Texas 4 years ago to be with her family because she loved being surrounded by them.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Kathy Stokley.

She is survived by: Son and Daughter-in-law, Larry and Cathy Shapard; sister, Laura Broot; Son-in-law, James "Tex" Stokley; 6 grandchildren: LaJuanna Lynn Stokley,  Tina Hall and husband Jeffry, Jimmy Stokley and wife Adrienne, Tommy Stokley and wife Elizabeth, Chris Shapard and wife Andrea and Amy Shapard and husband.  She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild

Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at the Wheelock Cemetery. Family and friends will gather after graveside service at the Wheelock Baptist Church for fellowship.
