Benita was born in Xenia, Ohio and passed away unexpectedly, while on a cruise with her husband celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
Benita was an Army "Brat" and received her schooling in a variety of places ranging from Dayton, Ohio to Asmara, Eritrea (Ethiopia) where she met her husband, Clifford. She completed her formal education at University of Texas, Dallas and went on to get her CPA license. She was self-employed as a Tax Accountant for many years. After Cliff's retirement, they relocated to Franklin, Texas, to be close to her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Max V. Jones and Paddy C Jones.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 50 years, Clifford Ebel of Franklin, TX; her brother and sister-in-Law, Skip and Becky Jones: of Franklin, TX; her sister, Linda Powers of Calvert. She is also survived by her nephew Charles Jones of Normangee and great-nieces Brooklyn and Jaelyn Jones.
Benita was an avid quilter and was a member of the "Blue Bonnet Quilt Guild" and the "Franklin Praying Piecers". She was also very active with the Franklin American Legion Post and with the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church parish Choir and Altar Society. In her spare time, she discovered cruising and Benita and Cliff had enjoyed numerous cruises. It was while on a 97 day "World Cruise" to celebrate their 50 years together she met her untimely death.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Franklin with a reception afterwards in the Parish Hall from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.
