Barney Joe Allen, 82, of Franklin, Texas passed away at a place dear to his heart, his home, Bar-Nel Ranch, surrounded by loving family, friends and his dogs on May 22, 2017. He was born on May 11, 1935 in Waco, Texas to Ambrose and Dovie Moore Allen. Barney was a graduate of Lott High School and married LaNelle Holder on July 4, 1958 in New Baden, Texas. He was a self-employed rancher and had been resident of Franklin for the past 39 years. Barney was a former director of the American Brahman Texas Junior Association. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Landra Allen and 10 siblings.

He is survived by:

His loving wife, LaNelle Allen, of 59 years

His sister, Barbara Allen Barnett and husband John Barnett

His two sons, Ricky and Randy Allen

His 7 Grandchildren: Richie Allen, Katrina Allen, Brandon Allen, TJ Lyons, Bradley Lyons, Chris Lyon, Randi Lyons

Numerous Great Grandchildren

His loving dogs: Hank, Sadie, Duke, Happy, Addie

A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the McCauley Funeral Chapel in Franklin. Jimmy Sanders will officiate. Burial will Follow in the East Boone Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Guest are invited to Bar-Nel Ranch after the graveside.
