Barbara Lee Smith Reagan of Franklin, Texas passed from this life, surrounded by her family at home, on April 21, 2016. She was 68 years old. Barbara was the daughter of the late Lee Smith and Darlene Davis Smith, sister of the late Sue Smith O'Neill and sister of Cecil Smith and Alice Tharp.
Barbara was born in Grants Pass, OR and raise in Franklin, Texas. She graduated from Franklin High School and attended Mary Hardin-Baylor College. Barbara married Jimmy Reagan on September 9, 1967. They eventually settled in the Bald Prairie Community near Franklin. Barbara was a teacher at a Christian academy and also worked for Navasota Valley Electric Coop.
Barbara's greatest joy was her family. They were the focus of what she did. She continued to serve them as she valiantly fought the effects of ALS. She consistently found ways to overcome these ALS effects till the end of her life.
Barbara leaves behind her husband of 48 years and three children: Allison Jones, Alex Reagan and wife Jeri and Kate Perry and husband Wayne. Barbara also leaves behind 8 grandchildren that were her true joy. These grandchildren include Trey Jones, Kaylin Calhoun and husband Canton, Tanner Reagan, Seth Reagan, Alexis Reagan, Andrea Reagan, Weston Perry and Reagan Perry.
Barbara also leaves behind loyal friends Lou Wallingford, Jennifer Neyland and Sandy Perry.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bald Prairie Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Bald Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas.
