Alvin Dale Behrens was born May 22, 1932, in Lucan Minnesota. The youngest of two children born to Jerry J. and Lillian D. Hummel Behrens.
After graduating from Walnut Grove High school in 1952, Alvin was drafted into the army in November 1952. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal in November 1954, after spending 13th months in Korea in the US Army Combat Engineers.
Alvin was baptized on August 13th, 1933, in his parents' house in Revere Minnesota. He was confirmed at the English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove, on May 11th, 1947. On June 17th, 1961, he married Billie Bernita Brauer in the Wayfarer's Chapel in Portuguese Bend California. They lived in various places throughout their marriage, California, Minnesota, Maine, New Hampshire and Texas.
Al had a variety of jobs over the years, his first job was building paper egg cases for a penny a case, he got a nickel a piece for the wooden cases. After getting out of the service he graduated from DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, IL. with a degree of associate in applied science in Electronic Technology, he got a job repairing and maintaining computers. His career in computer maintenance lasted almost 40 years. He liked building electronic gadgets but liked wood working the best. He also liked to build clocks and has built over 200 different clocks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Billie and sister, Levon.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Tracy Behrens Demosthenes of Franklin, Son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Angela Behrens of Franklin, 3 grandchildren, Stephen, Michelle and Ashley and his 3 great grandchildren, Wallker, Jude and Leo.
Services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Sheperd of the Prairie Lutheran in Franklin, Texas. A burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
